Founded in 1842 by William Thomson, The Eglesfield Musical Society is the oldest music society in Oxford and is based at The Queen's College.

The EMS usually hosts over 60 events annually, almost all of which are free and open to the general public. We run a weekly organ recital series every Wednesday and host a Saturday recital series; if you would like to perform, please get in touch! Our recitalists include top-tier student musicians and world-renowned professionals alike. The EMS' garden musical in Trinity Term is always a must-see, and our termly concerts feature the EMS' own student-led Orchestra and A Cappella group. For students, we run events such as open mic and jazz nights! If you would like more information about upcoming events, please visit our 'What's On' page.

We pride ourselves on being an inclusive, university-wide society that provides abundant performing and conducting opportunities. We are non-auditioned and welcome everyone to attend concerts or come and perform with us.
