The EMS Orchestra is a non-auditioned orchestra, welcoming players of all abilities. It is a fantastic way to integrate undergraduate and postgraduate members of the university in a relaxed rehearsal space. It rehearses on Wednesdays in the Chapel of The Queen's College from 8-9pm.

CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

The brand new EMS Chamber Orchestra gives members a chance to perform more difficult repertoire. We hope that this orchestra will also give instrumentalists the chance to perform solos or movements from concertos in our 6th week concert. Chamber Orchestra rehearsals take place on Wednesdays from 9-10pm.

A CAPPELLA

EMS A Cappella is a mixed-voice, non-auditioned vocal ensemble consisting of students from The Queen's College. It offers a relaxed alternative to Oxford’s auditioned chapel choirs – our repertory is varied and accessible and has included classical, folk, and popular music. It rehearses on Fridays in the chapel from 8:15-9:15pm.

Off-key is an improv jazz band open to players and singers of all abilities. The band performs once a term at the EMS '5th Week Blues' concert in the Beer Cellar, Queen's small but mighty college bar. At the Jazz nights, we also have an open mic, and invite singers to give us a rendition of any jazz standard.
